SUPPORT
Effectus is a local-first app for tasks, habits, goals, and scheduling, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, with home-screen widgets and optional iCloud sync. Most questions are answered below — if you can't find yours, we're one email away.
When writing to us, please include what happened, the app version, and your iOS version. For subscription issues, attaching a screenshot of your App Store purchase history helps us resolve things faster. We read every message and reply as soon as we can.

You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period. See Apple's guide.
In-app purchases are billed and refunded by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, choose "Request a refund," and follow the prompts — Apple typically responds within 24–48 hours.
For details, see Apple's refund guide.
After reinstalling the app or switching to a new device, open in-app Settings → Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase — if the device is shared or the account was switched, sign back into the purchasing account first.
First try in-app Restore Purchases, and confirm you're signed in with the Apple Account used at purchase. If it's still not unlocked, email us with a screenshot of your App Store purchase history (Settings → name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History) and we'll sort it out.
Prices, billing periods, and free-trial terms (if offered) are shown live on the in-app purchase screen and the App Store product page, and may vary by region or promotion. If a free trial is offered, cancel before it ends to avoid being charged.

If nothing changes for a while, toggle iCloud sync off and back on in the app to trigger a fresh sync. When iCloud sync is on, your data travels through your own Apple Account — we have no way to access it.
Either way works:
In-app Settings → Backup & Export lets you export tasks, habits, goals, journal entries, and more to a file you choose where to keep. The exported file lives on your own device or cloud drive — we have no access to it.
Local data: delete entries in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all local data. iCloud data: turn off iCloud sync for Effectus in Settings → your name → iCloud, where you can also delete its iCloud data. See Privacy Policy, "Your rights."

The first time you use an Apple Health–related habit (such as the sleep habit), the app asks to read one or more types of health data from Apple Health (HealthKit), such as sleep, steps, or workout duration, and converts it locally into check-in counts. If you revoke access, check-ins already generated stay on your device but stop updating. The data is processed on your device only and never uploaded. You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
Turn on "Calendar integration" in in-app Settings → Data & Integrations: the app can read events from calendars you select, write app schedules back to your system calendar, and sync Apple Reminders with your to-dos in both directions. Such data stays on your device and in your own Apple Account — we have no access to it, and you can turn it off or adjust its scope anytime.
Turn on App Lock in in-app Settings → Privacy & Security: set a custom PIN and use Face ID / Touch ID, and lock private content such as the journal separately. The PIN is stored on your device only in encrypted form, and biometric verification is performed by the system on-device — nothing is uploaded.
After installing Effectus: the Apple Watch app can be installed from the Watch app on your iPhone; home-screen and Lock Screen widgets can be added by long-pressing the home screen (or Lock Screen), entering edit mode, and searching for Effectus — handy for a quick glance or check-in.
